You can help by signing petitions to end primate suffering in the United States and to let your local politicians know how important it is to promote habitat conservation all over the world.

Buy organic fruit, especially bananas and pineapples, which are typically grown in close proximity to rain forest communities. Purchase of these organic products helps to prevent the seepage of dangerous chemicals directly into primate habitats.

If you have some spare time, go to your local zoo and ask about volunteer opportunities that will allow you to help out the captive primates in your community.

In addition, you can donate to organizations that are devoted to making a difference in the lives of primates all over the world. Whatever you do, do something! Together, we can make long-lasting, positive changes that we can all be proud of.

• Prompt legislators to pass bills the protect primates. The Captive Primate Safety Act (H.R. 80) passed in the House of Representatives on February 24, 2009, but never became law because Congress ended its session before the bill was passed.  Make your local representatives aware of how important primate protection is to you so that similar bills will pass quickly in the future. Also, send letters to your local lawmakers asking them to put into place the necessary agents to enforce the current laws that protect primates from exploitation.
• Help to feed rescued primates by clicking here once per day.
• Help others in a quest to save South Africa’s primates by signing this petition.
• Join PETA’s campaign to stop the use of primates in animal testing experiments.
